It’s gone

The End.

The old magnolia that so elegantly frames my house in the top photo was cut down yesterday. It was badly weakened by a vascular disease, caused by old root damage, so it didn’t have long. Only a year or so left according to the tree guy, or less if a strong storm came through. Its absence left the fresh smell of wood like a Christmas tree lot and a hot, stark and sunny late afternoon into evening. I’ll miss those long shadows.
